Take the time
I will be going for the weekend retreat away from home today. It will be a time of reflection, relaxation and more importantly a special time to be alone with God.
Life is busy and having bipolar illness makes it even more hectic. We need to make time for ourselves. Our minds have the tendency to go in high gear (in both ways – manic or depression). That is why, we need to slow down and sort out things. Prioritize, plan and start refreshed again.
Remember, that this illness has blessed us to be aware of ourselves, life, and what is more important in general. Therefore, take the time and do something fun or just enjoy the quite time of being with God alone.
Be blessed.
Hello world!
I had my first episode of bipolar illness 24 years ago. I suffered with bipolar illness for the first 14 years. However, after acceptance, I have been on a journey of bipolar recovery for the last 10 years. I finished my Ph.D. and have worked for the same company with outstanding performance awards for six years straight and counting. I have a family of my own, a fulfilled life and a grateful heart. In short, I am the better for it. I plan to blog about my recovery (story of hope) and reflections on daily living.
Thank you for coming!
